ABOUT Citizens For Immigration Reform-Fort Worth (CFIR-FW)

Dear Fellow Immigration Reformer , I am glad you have shown interest in this subject. These pages will let you know a few things about C F I R-Fort Worth.

Our dues are yearly $35 per couple, $25 single. Our address is CFIRFW,P.O.Box 534, Hurst TX 76053.

WHAT WE ARE: C F I R-Fort Worth is a volunteer, grassroots organization. There are no paid positions at CFIR-FW. We acknowledge that all of the illegal aliens can't be rounded up, put on a bus and sent back to their home country. This is not practical nor would it last for very long, they would just walk back in. Particularly as long as the benefits of being in America are so high relative to back home. We think the trick is to diminish the luster of being in America. That's why we are dedicated to encouraging illegal aliens to self-deport. Working with state and local officials, we seek to enact rules and regulations that will call for proof of U.S. citizenship, or lawful residency, each time a Texas resident applies for government services, or tries to find work. We believe that by tweaking the statutes and regulations governing requirements to prove lawful residence, we can create a climate that a citizen, or a legal immigrant will find easy to live with but will be a difficult process for illegal aliens, and therefore, cause them to self-deport.

Simultaneously, our efforts will go toward encouraging employers to hire legal immigrants and American citizens instead of illegal laborers by asking employers to do so, and passing statutes that require them to do so. We understand the need for employers to have a quick, inexpensive and trustworthy system for checking citizenship status and will work to make this happen.

We will encourage all individuals, groups, organizations, and legislators who support our mission.

WHAT WE ARE DOING AND WILL DO: Legislative Initiatives : We will accomplish the objectives laid-out above by supporting legislative initiatives that coincide with our goals. We have supported Bills that we like in the current legislative session. We received a setback when most of the Bills were sent to the Attorney General's office to be vetted for constitutionality and enforceability. We believe that this was a parliamentary trick designed to delay the Bills until it was too late and the session ended. We will continue to try to salvage as much as possible from this session, but in any case we will start planning for the 81st Legislature in 2009.

All the Bills that we supported , that were not given a committee hearing, not sent to the House floor, or defeated on the House floor will be examined to understand why they failed. Then we will change some of them and discard some in light of what we determine is the reason they failed, scrub them down, dust them off and have them ready to make another run in 2009, along with any new ideas that we will have in the meantime. We will redouble our efforts in the Texas Statehouse. We will have more people, more of the time. We will not give up.

PUBLICITY INITIATIVES: In order for our group to grow, we have to let people know that we exist. In order for that to happen, we must have publicity. Letters to the Editor, press releases, protest rallies, picketing employers who hire illegal aliens , radio ads, billboards and other methods will be used to get publicity for C F I R-Fort Worth. We will probably stick to the ones that don't cost money . Note: this has not been given much thought .

OUR OPPOSITION: Our opponents are well-financed, well educated professionals who are given a salary to advocate for illegal immigration. That is not to imply that they are not committed to the cause of Open Borders, but they are supported such that they can spend as much time as needed on it. Most of them come from non-profit, deep pocketed organizations, and make up about 70% of the opposition. Business interests and government bureaucrats, trying to protect their profits or turf are the remaining 30%.

So, we have a set of resolute, entrenched, well financed and cunning opponents arrayed against us. They have been doing this, influencing public policy, for a long time and they know what they are doing. We will observe and learn as much as we can from them.

All we have is our will, our numbers, and our grass roots origins. This ain't nothing to sneeze at. A tiny bit of leadership can ignite a fire in the grass roots that will scorch many a pair of political trousers. We hope to use this to further our cause. Our task is doable, it's just hard.

OUR TASK:
We must realize that our task will require patience and tenacity. We must realize that we are in this for the long haul. The pressure that we exert must be steady, inexorable and as strong as we can make it. We will also use incentives, rewarding those who help us.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT C F I R TO CALL UPON YOU TO DO:
This comes under the definition of methods and we want to keep it under wraps. Suffice to say, we will ask for as much time, money and talent as you can give.

One thing you will be called upon to do is fill out a “Resources Inventory” included in this package. It will allow us to judge what we are capable of doing as a group. For example; If you have command of a Xerox machine that we could use to make copies, that would be a resource. The people you know who have something to do with politics may be a resource. We ask that you print the Resource Inventory, fill it out and bring it with you to our next meeting. If you cannot come to our meetings but have a resource you would like to offer to us, fill it in and send it in the mail to CFIR-FW, P.O.Box 534, Hurst, TX 76053.

WHAT NAMES YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE CALLED:
as a C F I R member you will be called the most foul names you have ever heard, or thought of. Racist, bigot , redneck, anti-brown, anti-immigrant, xenophobe, xenophobic, fascist, Nazi, white supremacist, weak minded, simple, hayseed, hick, reactionary, mean-spirited, caveman, cavewoman, troglodyte, sexist, snob, greedy, elitist and rightwing nut plus more, as well as every epithet in the book. But don't let it hurt your feelings, just consider the source. And remember this, you are protecting one of the greatest things produced by any country in history, the American culture.

A WORD ABOUT AMERICAN CULTURE: The American culture, for all its naysayers, is one of the most honest cultures in the world, especially in politics . In no other culture in the world is political graft and petty crime so frowned upon and prosecuted as it is in America. In no other culture in the world are so many laws enacted simply to keep politicians honest. The American culture has at its base the 10 Commandments. This is one of the reasons that the United States is one of the most politically stable countries in history. This is what we are protecting.

CONCLUSION: Our methods and priorities will change with new circumstances. When we succeed in Texas, then we will focus our attention on something else. Something national, perhaps. It took a long time for the illegal immigration situation to get this way, it is going to take time and work to make it right.
